The Minister of Economy, Finance and Planning takes part in the installation ceremony of the First President of the Court of Auditors
The Minister of Economy, Finance and Planning, Mr Cheikh DIBA, attended the installation ceremony of the First President of the Court of Auditors, Mr Abdoul Madjib GUÈYE, this Thursday, 16 July 2026.
This solemn ceremony marks the official assumption of duties by the First President, who is responsible for leading the work of this institution, which is essential to the oversight of public finances, to transparency and to accountability.
The Minister's presence at this ceremony holds particular institutional significance, given the respective missions of the Court of Auditors and the Ministry of Economy, Finance and Planning. It reflects the necessary complementarity among the actors in the public finance chain and reaffirms the Ministry's commitment to continuously improving the quality of public management.
In his address, the First President welcomed the presence of the Minister of Economy, Finance and Planning, regarding it as a strong signal of the attention given to the Court's missions and to the implementation of the reforms needed to strengthen financial governance.
He also recalled a deep conviction: the results expected in the management of public finances depend on the optimal functioning of the entire chain of actors and on their full mobilisation, each respecting its own missions and responsibilities.
This requirement finds particular expression in the action plan established by the Minister for the implementation of the recommendations arising from the report on the state of public finances, reflecting the determination to pursue efforts towards more transparent, more rigorous and more effective public management.
