Senegal and the World Bank Strengthen Their Partnership with the Signing of Three Financing Agreements Totalling More Than 220 Billion FCFA

The Minister of the Economy, Finance and Planning, Mr Cheikh DIBA, chaired, on Wednesday 5 August 2026 in Dakar, the signing ceremony of three financing agreements between the Government of Senegal and the World Bank, for a total amount of 220.7 billion FCFA, in the presence of Mr Ousmane DIAGANA, World Bank Vice-President for Western and Central Africa, and Mr Allé Nar DIOP, Minister to the Minister of the Economy, Finance and Planning, in charge of the Economy, Planning and Cooperation.

These agreements focus on strengthening the national emergency response mechanism, improving connectivity in agricultural production areas, and supporting economic development in Casamance and Eastern Senegal. They reflect the shared commitment of Senegal and the World Bank to supporting structural investments in the service of more resilient, inclusive and job-creating growth.

In his address, the Minister of the Economy, Finance and Planning recalled that these financings constitute instruments serving the Senegal Vision 2050, in support of shock preparedness, territorial connectivity, the transformation of local economies and the opportunities offered to the population.

For his part, the World Bank Vice-President for Western and Central Africa reaffirmed the institution's commitment to supporting Senegal's development priorities through investments that foster more inclusive, resilient and job-creating growth.

Through these three new agreements, Senegal and the World Bank consolidate a strategic partnership serving the country's economic transformation, the balanced development of its territories and the lasting improvement of the population's living conditions.
